The Chewbacca Lego Star Wars Minifigure is a brave Wookiee fighter from the planet of Kashyyyk and a long time companion of Han Solo. He first met Han Solo when Han rescued the Wookie from slavers mistreating him. Chewbacca stayed with Han at first to pay him back for the rescue and then as his smuggling partner and friend. Never hesitating to protect his home planet from Separatist invasion or fight alongside the Rebels Chewbacca also helped Jedi Master Yoda, to escape from the Clone Troopers on Kashyyyk during Order 66.
The first Chewbacca minifigure appeared in three 2000-2001 Lego sets wearing an ammunition bandolier and carrying an energy bolt-firing bowcaster and is made of the same pieces of the later 2009 minifigure, but they are all coloured brown rather than a reddish brown. Chewbacca appears in 11 Star Wars Lego Sets Star Wars #3 3342, Millennium Falcon 4504, X-Wing Fighter 6212, Millennium Falcon 7190, Imperial AT-ST 7127, Wookiee Catamaran 7260, Hoth Echo Base 7879, Star Wars Advent Calendar 7958, The Battle of Endor 8038, Millennium Falcon 10179 and The Death Star 10188.
