Interview With jj481012

There are several ways to customise minifigures, some people like to buy blank pieces and paint them, design their own decals on a computer and other more purists like to source out existing Lego pieces. Whichever way you choose you can create new minifigures from parts of the Star Wars Universe from books or video games.

What we like about jj481012 is that his Star Wars minifigures are simple yet very affective, especially the new SWTOR ones, so we were delighted when he accepted our invitation to be interviewed:

How did you first get into Star Wars and custom minifigs?

I first got into Star Wars a while ago when I saw it at my local library. Every time we went, I wanted to rent it until one day my parents said “yes.” Ever since, I have seen all of the movies and I watch the Clone Wars every night it comes on.

Where do you get your ideas and inspiration from?

I get most of my inspiration from games like Star Wars the Old Republic and other things like that where there is an expansive world I can get ideas from. I am also influenced by the films as well.

Are there any customizers that you look up to, or inspire you?

I do think other customizers inspire me like ~McL?vin~ and Zeessi.

Which is your favorite Star Wars film?

I think my favorite Star Wars film is the third. It just seems like a very pivotal film in the trilogy. The scale of the battles and action draws me as well.

Do you watch the Clone Wars TV Series?

Yes, like I said earlier, I do watch the Clone Wars. I have to admit though, that it can sometimes get a little childish, but I still enjoy it.

Do you have any tips to pass onto other customizers?

One of the things that I think is crucial is to look professional. Even if the fig is great, the way you present something can sometimes make the difference.
